Overlanding is a term used for travel achieved ‘over land’ through a country whether it be by truck or similar vehicle, train, bus, taxi, donkey, horse, mountain bike, walking etc. It does not mean flying. The objective is to land in one country and travel a pre-determined route, or not, through a number of other countries stopping at points of interest and experiencing the diversity, culture, sights and sounds of the Continent along the way, until you reach your final destination.

Travelling ‘overland‘ is as much about the journey as it is about the destination. You choose the specific sights, optional activities and excursions you want to see and do at any given destination. It is the spirit of enthusiasm and the adventure of group travel that drives our company. We believe in providing the basics to get you out and about in Africa seeing the continent your way.

Travelling overland gives you a great feel for each country, its people and culture.

The mode of transport for our Overland Expeditions is a custom built safari truck, which has been designed to carry passengers with safety, comfort and practicality in mind. You will be travelling in the safari truck with a group of approximately 15 to 25 other people who all share a similar interest and passion for travel.

You will be expected to work as a team most days, carrying out daily tasks such as food shopping, cooking, cleaning inside the truck (remember it will be your home for the duration of your trip), washing up and truck security (e.g. looking after the truck while it is parked in a city if we are food shopping).

On the expedition truck there will be a Tour Leader and a Driver / Mechanic who will lead you on an adventure of a lifetime. They will be responsible for looking after all the day to day bookings and running of the expedition. You, as passengers will have the ability to assist with the day to day decision making e.g., what roads to travel on (when there is a choice), how long to spend in certain destinations and what to eat etc.
